Don't worry. You're just as sane as I am.

dw meme: two quotes — rose’s monologue in army of ghosts

Planet Earth. This is where I was born. And this is where I died. For the first nineteen years of my life nothing happened. Nothing at all. Not ever.

And then I met a man called The Doctor. A man who could change his face. And he took me away from home in his magical machine. He showed me the whole of time and space. I thought it would never end.

That’s what I thought. But then came the army of ghosts, then came Torchwood and the war. And that’s when it all ended. This is the story of how I died.

DONNA: Is that what you said to her? Your friend, the one you lost, did she trust you?DOCTOR: Yes she did and she is not dead, she is so alive.. now jump!

#oh my god he has tears in his eyes alsdfjkalskjdf

oh my GOD you’re right.
my heart is broken

This part always gets to me because you can see it in the Doctor’s eyes, there is a part of him that is trying to convince himself. He knows Rose is alive but she just feels so dead, she’s not with him and he will never be able to see her again. In some ways it is worse than death and the Doctor needs to convince himself that his Rose is still alive, safe and sound in an alternate dimension.

Not only that, but with so alive he’s also trying to convince himself that Rose is going to find some kind of happiness in Pete’s universe, that she’s going to move on with her life and be a world-saving BAMF and find love again. That her life isn’t over just because they’ve been separated. And he’s trying to convince himself that his own life isn’t over, either.

┕ Doctor Who

I walked away from the Last Great Time War. I marked the passing of the Time Lords. I saw the birth of the universe, and I watched as time ran out, moment by moment, until nothing remained. No time, no space – just me. I’ve walked in universes where the laws of physics were devised by the mind of a madman. I’ve watched universes freeze and creations burn. I have seen things you wouldn’t believe. I have lost things you will never understand. And I know things. Secrets that must never be told, knowledge that must never be spoken, knowledge that will make parasite gods blaze! So, come on, then! Take it! Take it all, baby! Have it! You have it all!
